NUNS dominate DLSZ 117-61 in UAAP girls basketball

National University Nazareth School (NUNS) secured a dominant victory over De La Salle Zobel with a score of 117-61 in the UAAP Season 87 girls basketball tournament on Thursday.

Ashley Abong led NUNS with 17 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and one steal, while Gilas Youth guard Aubrey Lapasaran contributed an all-around performance with 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and six steals.

NUNS coach Camilla Escoto emphasized the importance of staying vigilant after a recent loss to University of Santo Tomas (UST), urging her team to continue improving and noting that the loss was a blessing for their mindset.

The Lady Bullpups established early dominance with a first-quarter lead of 20-11, extending it to 53-36 at halftime and further increasing it to 90-47 after the third quarter.

De La Salle Zobel's Erica de Luna scored 15 points with 12 rebounds, five assists, and one steal, while Princess Cordero contributed 12 points for the losing team.
