De La Salle women's volleyball team tops Ateneo, improves to 13-2

De La Salle University's women's volleyball team dominated Ateneo de Manila University in straight sets during their UAAP Season 86 match on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Lady Spikers improved their tournament record to 13-2 with a score of 25-12, 25-12, and 25-18, tying for first place with National University and University of Santo Tomas.

Shevana Laput led De La Salle's offense with 15 points on 12 attacks and three blocks, continuing her strong performance despite Angel Canino still recovering from a hand injury.

Coach Noel Orcullo emphasized the need for continuous improvement as postseason approaches, urging players to stay consistent with their training routines ahead of their crucial match against University of Santo Tomas on Saturday.

Laput highlighted her contributions and credited her teammates for their collective effort in securing a win that brings De La Salle closer to clinching a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four. She was also named Collegiate Press Corps' Player of the Week alongside Vince Maglinao from the men's team.

Laput had a standout performance with 24 points, including 22 attacks and two blocks, in the Lady Spikers' victory over Adamson University on April 17.
