National University men's and women's volleyball teams beat Ateneo

National University secured a hard-fought victory over Ateneo de Manila University in Wednesday's UAAP Season 87 men's volleyball match, winning 23-25, 26-24, 27-25, 29-27.

The Bulldogs' triumph marks their tenth consecutive win against the Blue Eagles, extending their dominance dating back to Season 80. In a separate match earlier in the day, National University's women's team swept Ateneo with a three-set victory of 25-23, 25-19, 25-15, improving to an undefeated 2-0 record for the season.

Coach Sherwin Meneses emphasized the importance of fitness and injury prevention as the Lady Bulldogs look ahead to their remaining matches in the UAAP Season 87.

Alyssa Solomon led NU with 12 points in the women's match, while Vange Alinsug and Bella Belen had 10 and nine points respectively. Star setter Camila Lamina excelled with her 14 excellent sets, while rookie Celine Marsh made a crucial cross-court hit in the final moments to secure the victory.

Coach Meneses highlighted the team's focus on maintaining player health throughout the season to avoid injuries that could disrupt their winning streak.
