FEU women's volleyball team beats UST in four sets

Far Eastern University's women's volleyball team secured their first victory of UAAP Season 87 by defeating the University of Santo Tomas in four sets with scores of 25-19, 16-25, 25-14, and 25-20 on Saturday at Mall of Asia Arena.

Gerz Petallo led FEU with eight kills, five blocks, and two aces for a total of 15 points; Faida Bakanke topped the scoring with 16 points followed by Jean Asis' 14 points and Chenie Tagaod's 10 points.

FEU dominated the attack department with a score of 54-37 against UST, as coach Tina Salak noted that her team studied their opponents for two weeks prior to the game.

Petallo emphasized the importance of teamwork in FEU's victory and credited setter Tin Ubaldo for orchestrating the balanced attack with 12 excellent sets.

FEU will face the University of the Philippines next Wednesday, while UST aims to recover against the University of the East Lady Red Warriors on the following Saturday.
