La Salle extends winning streak with victory over UE in UAAP women's volleyball

Defending champion La Salle returns to action in Season 86 of the UAAP women's volleyball tournament on Wednesday, aiming to extend their winning streak against the troubled University of the East (UE) and maintain their position as joint second with National University.

Despite being heavily favored, La Salle coach Ramil de Jesus remains cautious, noting UE's recent struggles and the suspension of their coach Jerry Yee, while emphasizing respect for the young Lady Warriors who have shown fight despite a 1-3 slate.

La Salle recently rebounded from a loss to UST with a convincing win over Ateneo, and followed it up with another victory against UE on Wednesday at Mall of Asia Arena, securing their fourth win in five games.

The team's defense was instrumental in limiting UE star rookie Casiey Dongallo, who was held to her lowest point total this season, while Angel Canino and Thea Gagate emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and confidence moving forward.

Idle UST currently leads the standings with a perfect 4-0 record, followed by matches between National University (NU) and Far Eastern University, both at 3-1.
