De La Salle women's volleyball beats UE sans MVP Canino

De La Salle University's women's volleyball team narrowly secured a five-set victory over the University of the East in a rare Tuesday match during UAAP Season 86, despite being without their MVP Angel Canino who is recovering from an undisclosed accident.

Veteran blocker Thea Gagate led De La Salle with a season-high 22 points, contributing significantly to their win and extending their winning streak to seven games.

Head coach Ramil de Jesus and top deputy Noel Orcullo expressed concern over the team's performance in Canino’s absence, emphasizing the need for mental toughness as they face more challenging matches ahead.

The Lady Spikers' assistant coach Noel Orcullo highlighted that Angel is a leader who can push and motivate her teammates, urging everyone to step up and fill the void left by Canino.

De La Salle will face National University next Sunday at 4 PM in Pasay, where they aim to continue their winning streak despite ongoing challenges without Canino.
