Habagat brings rain, thunderstorms, flash flood risk; DOH warns of heat danger

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting western sections of Visayas and Mindanao and will impact the western parts of Southern Luzon on Sunday, bringing isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

Residents are advised to be cautious as scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected over Palawan, Western Visayas, Mimaropa, Batangas, Metro Manila, and other regions with partly cloudy skies and isolated rain showers in some areas.

PAGASA warns of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains and severe thunderstorms in these areas, particularly advising caution during severe weather conditions.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 2.1 meters) are expected throughout the country, with temperature ranges provided for major cities across the archipelago.

The Department of Health advises residents to stay hydrated, avoid midday outings, wear light clothing, and take necessary precautions due to a heat index at the danger level in 35 areas across the country on Sunday.
