Philippines spends P352.7B on COVID-19, PHP 1.49T war chest to be ready by end-April

The Philippine government has spent PHP 352.7 billion on its coronavirus response as of April 24.

Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez stated that while funds are sufficient, the budget for COVID-19 measures is becoming limited.

Dominguez also mentioned that the government's war chest against the virus, amounting to PHP 1.49 trillion, will be fully available by the end of April.

The finance secretary noted that these funds would support both emergency response and infrastructure projects under the 'Build, Build, Build' program.
