PH reports 7,294 COVID-19 cases, 494 deaths

As of Saturday, April 25, the Philippines reported 7,294 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 494 deaths and 792 recoveries.

The Department of Health recorded 102 new infections on Saturday, marking a slight decrease from recent daily increases.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire noted that the country may not have reached its peak in COVID-19 cases as infections continue to rise.

On Friday, former health secretaries and experts proposed expanding testing capacity by allowing UP Manila’s National Institutes of Health to certify laboratories for RT-PCR tests.
