Cavite aims for 15K daily tests, Ramon Ang donates equipment

Cavite province aims to conduct 10,000 to 15,000 coronavirus tests per day within ten weeks, surpassing the national target.

Governor Jonvic Remulla of Cavite announced a partnership with De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute for additional testing capacity.

Billionaire Ramon Ang donated five RT-PCR testing machines and high-throughput automated RNA extraction systems to the DOH and Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, doubling the government's testing capacity to 11,000 tests per day.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated that once a laboratory in Pampanga becomes operational, daily testing capacity will increase to nearly 9,500 tests.

As of Tuesday, April 28, the Philippines is conducting 6,320 tests daily, with plans to expand capacity to 10,000 by May 15.
