Galeries Tower secured an upset victory over third-seeded Cignal in the qualifying round of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at PhilSports Arena.

Galeries Tower, ranked tenth after the preliminary round, triumphed 25-17, 25-22, 19-25, 25-19, to earn a quarterfinal berth against their strong rival Cignal.

Cignal coach Shaq delos Santos emphasized maintaining intensity and proper recovery as crucial elements for success in the second round, but his team fell short despite previous victory over Galeries Tower earlier this year.

Nxled will rely on Lycha Ebon and EJ Laure to challenge top-ranked Creamline, who boasts Alyssa Valdez and Tots Carlos among its roster.
