Ysa Jimenez leads Galeries Tower to historic PVL All-Filipino Conference win

Ysa Jimenez led Galeries Tower to a historic victory over Cignal in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Thursday at PhilSports Arena, securing their first-ever quarterfinals appearance.

Jimenez scored 23 points, her highest output this season, with an impressive 22-of-55 attacking clip, while France Ronquillo contributed 20 points and 13 excellent receptions in the upset win.

Coach Lerma Giron praised the team's perseverance through challenges, noting that everything happens 'for a reason' as they secured their eighth-place finish at least.

Galeries Tower's victory included 67 successful attacks and seven blocks while limiting unforced errors to just 21 points, with Jewel Encarnacion adding 11 points and 10 excellent digs from setter Fen Emnas.

For her outstanding performance in the match, Jimenez earned the PVL Press Corps Player of the Week presented by Pilipinas Live for the period of February 27 to March 1.

Galeries Tower now faces the winner of the Akari and Farm Fresh qualifying game in their best-of-three quarterfinals series starting March 15.
