FEU edges out UP 3-1 in UAAP, secures Final Four

Far Eastern University (FEU) narrowly defeated the University of the Philippines (UP), 25-21, 25-16, 14-25, 26-24, in their UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball match on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Faida Bakanke led FEU with a game-high 20 points and seven digs, while Chenie Tagaod and Gerz Petallo each contributed 14 markers.

With this victory, FEU improved to a record of 7-4 in the league standings, tied with University of Santo Tomas for a Final Four spot but holds the tiebreak due to their win over UP.

The loss halted UP's three-game winning streak, dropping them to a 5-6 record and fifth place in the standings.

FEU’s head coach Tina Salak highlighted her team's maturity in handling the game, especially during the fourth set when they squandered an early nine-point lead but managed to secure the win with Bakanke leading the charge.

The Lady Tamaraws will next face Ateneo Blue Eagles on Wednesday, April 9, at the PhilSports Arena.
