OFWs affected by coronavirus travel bans receive PHP10K aid

Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) affected by travel bans due to the novel coronavirus outbreak are receiving financial aid.

OWWA-Bicol spokesperson Rowena Alzaga announced that 79 OFWs from Bicol will receive PHP10,000 each as they were unable to return to their foreign work assignments.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III stated that OWWA members affected by travel bans to Taiwan, China, Macao, and Hong Kong are also eligible for PHP10,000 cash assistance.

DOLE has prepared a reintegration program offering PHP20,000 financial aid, livelihood support, and employment opportunities for repatriated OFWs who decide to stay in the Philippines.
