DOH: COVID-19 hospital bed occupancy below 50%

The occupancy rate of hospital beds dedicated to Covid-19 patients is below 50%, with ICU beds at around 46% and isolation unit beds at 45.7%. DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire clarified that these figures only reflect the capacity for dedicated Covid-19 beds, not all hospital beds.

Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega reported a slightly lower occupancy rate of around 43% for both isolation and ICU beds dedicated to Covid-19 patients. He emphasized the need to expand hospitals' capacity in preparation for an increase in severe cases.
