FDA approves 204 COVID-19 test kits

The Food and Drug Administration has approved a total of 204 COVID-19 test kits, including 71 PCR-based, 77 rapid antibody, and 51 immunoassay test kits.

As of Friday, the number of confirmed cases reached 52,914 with 1,233 new infections; recoveries surpassed 13,000 to reach 13,230; and deaths increased by 42 to a total of 1,360.

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) stated that expanding testing capacity is crucial for avoiding a return to strict lockdown measures.
