Philippines' COVID-19 Cases Top 67,000; Metro Manila Leads New Infections

The Philippines' COVID-19 case tally rose to over 67,000 on Sunday after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 2,241 new cases.

Metro Manila accounted for most of the new infections with 1,625 cases, followed by Laguna, Cavite, Rizal, and Cebu.

Total recoveries increased to 22,465 after 398 more patients recovered, while the death toll climbed to 1,807 with 20 new fatalities reported since Thursday.

Active cases now stand at 41,632, with 90% of them classified as mild, 9.1% asymptomatic, and 0.5% in critical condition.
