PGH nears full capacity for severe COVID-19 cases

The Philippine General Hospital (PGH) is nearing full capacity for severe and critical COVID-19 cases due to high ICU occupancy.

As of Thursday, July 9, PGH's ICU was almost fully occupied with a 95% overall occupancy rate and at least 172 admitted patients.

Dr. Jonas del Rosario, PGH spokesperson, stated that the hospital can no longer accept severe or critical cases from other hospitals due to lack of available beds.

PGH is prioritizing mild, moderate, and severe cases that do not require intensive care, while supporting reports of ICU bed shortages in Metro Manila's hospitals.
