DOH: NCR could see up to 330K active COVID cases by end-September

The Department of Health (DOH) projects that the number of active COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila could reach between 152,000 to 330,000 by the end of September.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire noted this projection is based on a set of assumptions and not definitive.

The Philippines remains at high-risk case classification with a moderate risk two-week growth rate (TWGR) of 30% and an increased average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 17.14 cases per 100,000 individuals.

A decrease in TWGR is observed nationally and in six regions including NCR, Regions 4A, 2, and 3; however, the numbers are still increasing at a slower rate.
