DILG deploys 50K+ police, fire for nat'l vaccine rollout

Over 50,000 police and fire personnel will be deployed across the Philippines starting June to support the national vaccine rollout.

The deployment includes 35,415 PNP officers for vaccine transportation and 13,840 BFP personnel for maintaining health protocols and security at inoculation sites.

Since March, only A1 to A3 priority groups were eligible for vaccines; however, starting in June, the rollout will include economic frontline workers (A4 category).

The DILG aims to ensure efficient vaccine distribution with the help of these uniformed personnel as 16 million doses are expected to arrive over the next two months.
