DepEd gives discretion to cancel or postpone grad rites

DepEd has given schools and parents the discretion to postpone or cancel end-of-school year graduation ceremonies due to the COVID-19 threat.

The order covers Kindergarten, Grade 6, Grade 10, and Grade 12 students who have completed their curriculum requirements.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones stated that schools can proceed with graduation rites if they strictly follow DOH guidelines on social distancing, such as limiting the number of guests per student.
