Nueva Ecija suspends classes, bans mass gatherings over COVID-19

Governor Umali of Nueva Ecija ordered the suspension of classes from March 16 to April 14 and banned mass gatherings as a precaution against COVID-19.

Umali's executive order follows similar measures taken by Mayor Josef Cagas in Digos City, who suspended classes and canceled school events after President Duterte declared a state of public health emergency.

Both orders emphasize the need to minimize exposure and risks of further transmission of the disease, allowing only small-scale activities that adhere to DepEd, CHED, and TESDA guidelines.
