Bacolod vaccinates over 18K residents, mayor thanks gov't for extra doses

As of May 19, over 18,000 residents in Bacolod have been vaccinated against COVID-19 since the city's rollout began on March 5.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia expressed optimism that more people will get vaccinated as public confidence grows.

On May 17 alone, around 3,681 residents received their first dose at 15 vaccination centers across the city.

Leonardia thanked Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. for providing additional vaccines to speed up Bacolod's vaccination program.

The mayor had requested more vaccine allocation on May 5 due to a surge in local infections.
