DOH-7: Cebu needs 70% vaccination, OCTA recommends 50%

DOH-7 regional spokesperson Dr. Mary Jean Loreche insists that 70 percent of Cebu's population needs protection through mass vaccination for communal safety, refuting OCTA Research group’s recommendation to vaccinate only 50 percent.

OCTA recommends prioritizing the vaccination of 50 percent of populations in high-risk areas including Metro Manila and six other cities due to their high attack rates on May 24.

The research group noted that many countries have seen an immediate impact on containment after vaccinating half of their population.
