PH receives 500K more Sinovac doses, total now at 5.5M

The Philippines received an additional 500,000 doses of CoronaVac on Thursday, bringing the total number of Sinovac vaccines to 5.5 million.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque emphasized that choosing vaccine brands could delay vaccination efforts and urged citizens not to prioritize specific brands as all available vaccines have undergone rigorous safety testing.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. announced earlier this week that the country will receive approximately 4.5 million more doses of CoronaVac next month and 10 million doses in the following quarter.

President Duterte approved a recommendation by an inter-agency task force to include economic frontliners and indigent populations in the vaccination program.
