DOH confident in using 2M AstraZeneca doses before expiry

Health officials are confident that 2 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines recently delivered through COVAX Facility will be used before their expiration dates in June and July.

The government plans to administer these doses as first shots for priority groups, including health workers, senior citizens, and persons with comorbidities.

DOH Undersecretary Myrna Cabotaje clarified that the donated vaccines are only for the top three priority groups and cannot be used on essential workers.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. assured that with a daily inoculation capacity of 83,000 doses, all AstraZeneca vaccines will be utilized before their expiration dates.
