Akari wins PVL All-Filipino bronze medal

Akari secured their first PVL All-Filipino Conference bronze medal by defeating Choco Mucho in a thrilling three-set match on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena.

This marks Akari's best performance in an all-Pinoy contest, surpassing their seventh-place finish from the previous year and securing back-to-back podium finishes after winning silver in the 1724 Reinforced Conference.

Eli Soyud led the charge for Akari with a dominating performance, tallying 18 points and delivering timely hits during crucial moments.

In the decisive third set, Akari overcame several challenges including a tie at 22-all before securing match point at 24-22, with key contributions from Ivy Lacsina (12 points) and Mich Cobb's exceptional playmaking (20 excellent sets).

Despite committing 25 unforced errors, Akari dominated offensively, outscoring Choco Mucho 47-29 in attacks and limiting Sisi Rondina to just 14 points.
