Akari beats Choco Mucho 3-2 for 1-1 tie in PVL bronze medal series

Akari secured a victory over Choco Mucho in a thrilling five-set match on Thursday at the Araneta Coliseum, evening the score in their bronze medal series of the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.

Choco Mucho, led by Sisi Rondina who scored 26 points including 25 on spikes and Honey Royse Tubino with 17 points, equalized the series after winning 25-18, 25-22, 27-29, 25-19, preventing a repeat of their Game 1 loss where they squandered a 2-0 lead.

With this result, Choco Mucho now holds a 1-1 tie against Akari and will aim to clinch the bronze medal in Game 3 on Saturday, April 12.

Choco Mucho can claim the bronze if Petro Gazz secures their Finals victory later in the day; otherwise, they will face an all-or-nothing match for the bronze on Saturday.

Rondina and Tubino were key figures in Choco Mucho's comeback from a tight third-set loss to secure their podium finish bid alive.
