Agaton causes PHP85.5M damage, kills 6 in W. Visayas

Tropical Depression Agaton has caused six deaths and over PHP85.5 million worth of damage to agriculture in Western Visayas.

As of Wednesday, three people died in Sara municipality, one each in Ajuy and Lemery (all from Iloilo province), and one in Pilar town in Capiz.

The number of affected families has increased to 62,120, with 10,337 families staying in evacuation centers and 7,423 temporarily staying with relatives.

On Tuesday, the OCD reported that 59,944 people were affected by flooding across four provinces in Western Visayas.

At least 16 incidents of rain-induced landslides were recorded, with eight in Capiz, six in Iloilo, and one each in Negros Occidental and Aklan.
