Agaton death toll rises to 172

As of Sunday morning, the reported death toll due to Tropical Cyclone Agaton has risen to 172, with most fatalities occurring in Eastern Visayas.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) confirmed 12 deaths, while 110 individuals are still missing and eight were injured.

On Saturday, the death toll was reported at 167, with 151 deaths in Eastern Visayas, 11 in Western Visayas, three in Davao Region, and two in Central Visayas.

The Philippine National Police rescued 2,898 individuals from floods and landslides in the Visayas region and conducted relief operations that benefited 1,100 calamity victims.

As of Friday morning, the death toll was at 137 with 128 fatalities in Eastern Visayas, six in Western Visayas, and three in Davao City.
