Agaton death toll climbs to 101 in Leyte

As of Friday, April 15, the death toll from Tropical Depression Agaton in Baybay City, Leyte, reached 101 with around 102 people missing and 103 injured.

Fatalities were reported across several barangays, with Kantagnos recording the highest number at 42 deaths.

The city government also noted that over 3,600 residents had been evacuated due to Agaton.

Previously, on April 12, landslides and floods caused by Agaton led to 28 confirmed deaths in Leyte with more than 17,000 people evacuating their homes.

By Thursday, April 14, the death toll rose to at least 118 including 32 fatalities in Abuyog town's Barangay Pilar due to a landslide crushing around 80% of an estimated 100 houses.
