Adamson sweeps softball eliminations, faces UP in finals

Defending champion Adamson University secured a sweep of the UAAP Season 87 softball elimination round with a dominant 9-0 victory over De La Salle University on Saturday at Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

The Lady Falcons will face the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons in Game 1 of the best-of-three finals series on Tuesday, carrying an undefeated 8-0 record and improved hitting performance according to head coach Ana Santiago.

Neomay Mahinay and Mae Langga led off with strong performances, while Alaiza Talisik contributed a double in the fourth inning that drove in two runs and later scored on a hit by Madaelene Domaug.

April Minanga maintained Adamson's shutout over De La Salle University by allowing just three hits over two innings, while Glory Alonzo secured the win with three scoreless innings.

The University of Santo Tomas Tiger Softbelles will play against De La Salle University for the bronze medal on Tuesday.
