Adamson wins Game 1 of UAAP softball title series

Defending champion Adamson University secured a 6-3 victory over the University of the Philippines in the first game of the UAAP Season 87 women's softball best-of-three title series on Tuesday at Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

Mae Langga, a third-year standout from the University of Santo Tomas, was called to pinch-hit and delivered a crucial double that helped Adamson overcome an early deficit.

Adamson will attempt to clinch their 12th consecutive championship against UP in Game 2 on Saturday at 9 a.m. at Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium.

Coach Ana Santiago praised her team's resilience, noting the importance of trust and readiness among all players during timeouts.

University of Santo Tomas clinched third place by defeating De La Salle University 8-7 in an earlier match, with head coach Sandy Barredo attributing their success to strong pitching and hitting performances.
