UP women's volleyball team ends four-game losing streak

The University of the Philippines women's volleyball team ended their four-game losing streak with a thrilling five-set victory over Adamson on Sunday, March 16.

UP improved to a 3-4 record while Adamson fell to 2-5 after their fourth consecutive loss.

Shaina Nitura set a new scoring record of 38 points for UAAP Season 87 but UP's teamwork and resilience in the final sets proved decisive, with Irah Jaboneta contributing seven crucial points out of her 19 total points in the fifth set to secure victory.

Niña Ytang led UP with 20 points (15 attacks, 3 blocks, and 2 aces), while Joan Monares and rookie Kianne Olango each scored 15 points, showcasing their ball distribution skills and overall team effort.

Despite Nitura's record-breaking performance, the Fighting Maroons' combined efforts of Ytang and Jaboneta, along with strong contributions from Olango and Monares, secured a hard-fought win after two hours and 25 minutes.
