881 PH seafarers repatriated from US; second batch

A total of 881 Filipino seafarers from cruise ships in the US were repatriated to Manila on Wednesday.

The group included 445 seafarers from Norwegian Cruise Line ships Dawn and Encore, and another 436 from MV Magica and MV Favolosa.

These seafarers will undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine monitored by the Bureau of Quarantine.

This is the second batch repatriated from the US; the first group of 444 Filipinos from the MV Grand Princess arrived on March 15.

Earlier, 370 Filipino crew members from three cruise liners docked in Italy also returned to the Philippines and underwent a similar quarantine process.
