Philippines hits 11.2M fully vaxxed Filipinos

As of August 8, over five months after the government began its vaccination program, the number of fully vaccinated Filipinos reached 11.2 million.

This represents 15.88% of the targeted eligible population aged 18 and above and 10.13% of the total Philippine population.

The Philippines has administered a total of 24,174,821 doses of various vaccines nationwide.

On August 5, the country set a record-high single-day vaccination output with 710,482 doses administered.

National Task Force against COVID-19 deputy chief Vince Dizon noted that the effects of the vaccination program are being felt in areas like San Juan City where over 90% of its population is fully vaccinated.

In the National Capital Region (NCR), around 24.8 percent have been vaccinated, with a target to vaccinate 50 percent by the end of August.
