Zamboanga imposes border control to prevent coronavirus

Zamboanga City imposed border control effective Monday midnight to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar issued Executive Order No. BC-552-2020 suspending all incoming land, air, and sea transport until April 15.

The order does not affect movement of goods or outgoing passenger trips.

Passenger vessels from Malaysia are prohibited entry into the city port, but cargo ships can unload their cargoes; officers and crew are barred from disembarking.
