DILG suspends road clearing amid quarantine

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) suspended nationwide road clearing operations due to the community quarantine against COVID-19 in Metro Manila.

Road-clearing efforts will resume upon DILG's advisory, while local chief executives are instructed to focus on containing the virus.

Local government officials are prohibited from traveling outside the Philippines for 30 days to ensure they remain available to handle the situation.

Provincial governors and mayors of highly-urbanized cities can travel in and out of Metro Manila for official duties.
