Yulo brothers aim for 2028 Olympics, training together

Carlos and Karl (Eldrew) Yulo are both aiming to represent the Philippines in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Carlos made history in Paris 2024 by winning two gold medals, earning him the title of Athlete of the Year from the Philippine Sportswriters Association; Eldrew also received recognition at the PSA Awards Night on January 27th.

Karl Eldrew, now 17 years old, won a junior vault crown in the Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championship and an eight-gold sweep in the Chiu Wai Chung Cup, expressing his desire to win the Athlete of the Year award like Carlos.

Both brothers are training together at The GAP Training Center in Intramuros, with Carlos noting significant improvements in Karl's skills, particularly in floor exercise and vault.

Carlos acknowledges that representing the Philippines again will be challenging but remains hopeful, while Karl is determined to push beyond his limits every day and strengthen his mental fortitude.

In 2025, Carlos plans to compete in the Asian Championships and Southeast Asian Games, while Karl has lined up several competitions including the World Junior Championships hosted by the Philippines.
