Yeng Guiao calls for refs investigation after Game 1 loss

Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao called for an investigation into the referees' calls following their Game 1 loss against Converge FiberXers in the PBA quarterfinals.

Guiao criticized the early ejection of import Deon Thompson due to questionable fouls, which affected Rain or Shine's performance and led them to a 130-118 defeat on Wednesday, February 5.

Converge won despite Rain or Shine having a 17-point lead in the first half, and Guiao believes the game could have been closer with proper officiating.

Thompson echoed Guiao's sentiments, stating that staying in the game might have changed the outcome as he was ejected early due to three rapid fouls within four minutes of the third quarter.

While disappointed, both coaches acknowledged that there is still one more game to play on Friday, February 7.

Guiao also called for a review of league rules regarding defensive fouls and landing spots, which he deemed 'ridiculous'.
