Asistio's clutch performance propels Rain or Shine past TNT

Anton Asistio's strong performance helped Rain or Shine secure a 106-96 victory over TNT on Friday, clinching their spot in the PBA Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals.

Asistio scored 21 points with six out of seven three-pointers, contributing to Rain or Shine's sixth-place finish with an 8-5 record and securing a crucial position for the playoffs.

Rain or Shine pulled ahead in the second quarter with a 34-17 score advantage over TNT, leading by 13 at halftime.

Despite TNT's efforts to close the gap, Rain or Shine maintained control and won their eighth game of the season, breaking away from a one-point deficit in the fourth quarter with a 21-5 run.

Deon Thompson added 22 points and 16 rebounds while Santi Santillan contributed 20 points as Rain or Shine prepares to face Converge in the quarterfinals.

Asistio expressed satisfaction with their performance, noting that they avoided an unfavorable matchup for eighth place and secured a best-of-three series against No. 3 seed Converge.

Caelan Tiongson added 13 points and 10 rebounds to support Rain or Shine's victory, setting up the team's next challenge in the quarterfinals.
