Butchoy makes landfall in Quezon; yellow alert raised over NCR, nearby provinces

Tropical Depression Butchoy made landfall in Quezon on Thursday evening.

PAGASA raised a yellow rainfall alert for Metro Manila, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Zambales, Bulacan, Tarlac, Pampanga, and Nueva Ecija due to Butchoy and the southwest monsoon.

On Friday afternoon, PAGASA warned residents of Santa Cruz, Candelaria, Masinloc, Palauig, Iba, and Botolan in Zambales about possible flooding in low-lying areas and near river channels.

Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected over Metro Manila, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Bataan, Tarlac, and the rest of Zambales within the next two to three hours.
