Police, military take charge of national quarantine facilities

Police and military forces have taken charge of several large venues converted into quarantine facilities for coronavirus cases in Manila.

The Philippine National Police is managing the PICC Forum, while the Armed Forces of the Philippines oversees the Ninoy Aquino Stadium and World Trade Center.

Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. stated that up to 100,000 overseas Filipino workers may be repatriated due to the pandemic.

Manila City has successfully transferred its first batch of COVID-19 patients to the newly converted Ninoy Aquino Stadium quarantine center.

Seven government venues in Metro Manila, Pampanga, and Tarlac are ready to accept mild or asymptomatic cases with a total capacity of 1,500 beds.
