UST wins V-League Women's Collegiate Challenge after 14-year title drought

University of Santo Tomas secured their championship in the 2024 V-League Women's Collegiate Challenge and then won against Lyceum in a decisive four-set victory on Saturday at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

UST, who claimed their first major title in 14 years in the V-League Collegiate Challenge, began their Shakey's Super League (SSL) Collegiate Pre-season Championship campaign with another win.

Reg Jurado led UST with 16 points while Angge Poyos and Jonna Perdido contributed significantly, scoring 31 and 13 points respectively in the V-League victory on Friday.

UST's triumph marks their first title since 2010 and ends a 14-year championship drought, making this victory particularly meaningful for the team.

The Tigresses will play their third straight game against Mapua on Sunday at 1 p.m., continuing their strong start in the SSL tournament.
