UST secures second straight win in Shakey's Super League

University of Santo Tomas secured its second consecutive win in the Shakey's Super League Collegiate Pre-Season Championship by defeating Mapua University with scores of 25-18, 25-17, and 25-20 on Sunday at Rizal Memorial Coliseum.

Wing spiker Kyla Cordora led UST with nine points, all from kills including the match-clinching hammer to halt Mapua's late rally.

UST remains unbeaten in Pool B behind University of the East (3-0) and will face University of Perpetual Help on Friday at 6 p.m. before a showdown against UE on October 13.

Mapua, led by Alyanna Nicole Ong's eight points, remained winless after three matches.

University of the Philippines-Diliman also registered its first win against Colegio de San Juan de Letran with Kassandra Thalia Doering contributing nine attacks and seven blocks for UP.
