FEU dethrones La Salle to win V-League title

Far Eastern University (FEU) dethroned De La Salle University (La Salle) to win its first V-League Men's Collegiate Challenge title with a decisive 3-0 sweep in the winner-take-all Game 3 on Friday at Philsports Arena.

Despite falling short in Game 2, FEU staged a remarkable comeback from a 20-24 deficit in the second set to clinch the championship victory, setting their sights on the upcoming Spikers' Turf Invitational Conference.

Dryx Saavedra led FEU with a game-high 24 points and was named Finals Most Valuable Player for his outstanding performance, expressing eagerness to improve as they aim for more titles in future tournaments.

FEU's coach Eddieson Orcullo emphasized the team's determination and unity, noting that their loss in Game 2 sparked deeper reflection among players and highlighting the importance of mindset in achieving success.

La Salle struggled to match FEU’s intensity, with key player Chris Hernandez scoring only seven points in the decisive match, while FEU plans to face strong competition including Cignal and Criss Cross in the Spikers' Turf.
