UST beats UE 76-67 in UAAP men's basketball

University of Santo Tomas secured a crucial 76-67 victory over University of the East in their UAAP Season 87 men's basketball match on Saturday, advancing to 6-7 and tightening the race for the Final Four.

Nic Cabañero led UST with a season-high 27 points, eight rebounds, and an assist, helping the team overcome UE despite nearly losing a significant lead in the fourth period after Precious Momowei was ejected from the game.

UST head coach Pido Jarencio credited his players' resilience and focus during a challenging second half, noting that addressing issues in an open forum before the match helped improve their performance.

UE's Precious Momowei faces a one-game suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct, potentially impacting the Red Warriors' playoff chances as they struggle with recent losses.

UST will face Adamson on Nov. 16 at San Juan Arena, a must-win game for them to secure their spot in the Final Four.
