Mapua University secures top NCAA men's basketball seed with victory over Arellano

Mapua University secured the top seeding in the NCAA Season 100 men's basketball tournament with a decisive 75-69 victory over Arellano University on Saturday.

Clint Escamis and Chris Hubilla each scored 12 points for Mapua, while Marc Cuenco added 11 points to help solidify their position as the top seed in the Final Four.

Despite leading by as much as 20 points in the third quarter, Mapua had to fend off a late surge from Arellano before securing their win.

The Cardinals improved their record to 15-3 and will face fourth-ranked Lyceum of the Philippines University (Lyceum Pirates) on Nov. 23 at the Cuneta Astrodome with a twice-to-beat advantage.

Coach Randy Alcantara emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and effort as they prepare for their semifinal match against the tough Lyceum Pirates.
