UP men's basketball beats FEU 86-78, Abadiano leads with 19 points

The University of the Philippines (UP) men's basketball team ended their two-game losing streak with an 86-78 victory over Far Eastern University (FEU) in the UAAP Season 87 tournament on Saturday, November 16.

Captain Gerry Abadiano led all scorers with 19 points and four rebounds, while JD Cagulangan contributed 12 points and seven rebounds, helping UP secure their win.

UP head coach Goldwin Monteverde praised his team's resilience and ability to adjust during a comeback attempt by FEU in the third quarter, noting the players' determination despite recent losses.

The Fighting Maroons improved their record to 10-3 and maintained their position as the No. 2 seed, with Quentin Millora-Brown returning from injury to contribute seven points and 13 rebounds.

Coach Monteverde emphasized that overcoming these challenges prepares the team for future playoff matchups, including their upcoming semifinal against the University of the East Red Warriors.
