UST Golden Tigresses extend winning streak to three

The University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses extended their winning streak to three games in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament, defeating Adamson University on Saturday and De La Salle University earlier in the week.

UST captain Angge Poyos led the team with a season-high 28 points against De La Salle and followed up with 21 points against Adamson, contributing significantly to their victories.

Both UST's men's and women's volleyball teams secured second place in their respective divisions after splitting their first two games of Season 87 but registering perfect weeks from February 26 to March 2 by sweeping their matches.

UST assistant coach Yani Fernandez emphasized recovery and discipline during practice sessions, which has clearly benefitted the team’s performance.

Angge Poyos and Popoy Colinares were named the Collegiate Press Corps (CPC) UAAP Players of the Week for their standout performances that propelled UST to second place in both divisions.
